Ferretti, Pershing, and Riva owners, take note: You now have a refit and repair yard catering to you on the West Coast. San Diego-based Knight & Carver YachtCenter just inked a deal with MarineMax, which sells nearly the entire line of Ferretti Group yachts and megayachts throughout the USA, to service its clients cruising anywhere from Mexico to the Pacific Northwest.
“We view this as a perfect blend of our two specialties,” says Kate Pearson, Knight & Carver’s vice president of business development (pictured above, with Mark Gibbons, yacht-sales manager of MarineMax’s Shelter Island, California, office).
The partnership has a lot of power behind it. Recently Knight & Carver was named Boatyard of the Year by the American Boat Builders & Repairers Association and opened a special department for eco-friendly products, the first refit and repair yard to do so. As for MarineMax, it’s reportedly the largest boat and yacht dealership in the nation, with more than 88 retail locations in 22 states (three locations alone in Southern California). In addition, in 2007 MarineMax became the first inductee into the Boating Industry Hall of Fame by Boating Industry magazine.
