Expect to see hull numbers five and six of Palmer Johnson’s semicustom 150-foot Super Sport Yacht series cruising the Med this summer. Blue Ice (above) and Oneness (below), respectively, were delivered back to back in recent weeks.
Just like their smaller sisters, the 120- and 135-foot series, the all-aluminum 150s feature an open-plan main deck, where the saloon, bar, and dining area comprise one flowing area. Four guest staterooms – two doubles and two twins, the latter each with one Pullman – accommodate 10 guests, while the owner gets a private study, his and her heads, and walk-in dressing area in his suite. The brilliantly bold metallic paint jobs that many of Palmer Johnson’s megayachts boast make them immediately recognizable, and Blue Ice in particular does not disappoint in this regard. The styling and interior design of Blue Ice and Oneness, like the rest of the Sport Yachts, are from Nuvolari & Lenard.
It’s worth noting that since 2004, when Palmer Johnson was taken over by its current ownership and management team and launched the Sport Yacht series, the yard has made 14 deliveries, besides the eight members of the 150 series: seven 120s, four 135s, and three 123s, the latter of which are all-fiberglass flying-bridge designs. It additionally has hulls seven and eight under construction in the 150 series, hull number five in the 135 series, the first of its 170-foot Mega Sport Yacht launches, and an 82-meter Global Explorer.
