Hull number 22C launched at France-based JFA Shipyard over the weekend, its third project with the design team of Vripack.
Like the two previous yachts, Axantha and Bystander, hull 22C (no name has been released) is an expedition-style vessel. Measuring 141 feet (43 meters), she’s all-aluminum and will head out on transatlantic, remote cruises after delivery this summer. Range should be 4,500 nautical miles at 11 knots. Cruise speed is just slightly higher, at 12.5 knots. Power comes from two workhorse engines, 750-hp Cummins. If her eight-foot (2.5-meter) draft prevents her from fully reaching some areas, the two tenders stowed on the foredeck will take on the task.
Inside, hull number 22C features all guest staterooms on the lower deck: a master and four guest cabins for 11 people total, plus accommodations for eight crewmembers. If weather conditions prevent everyone from enjoying the aft-deck seating areas on the main and upper decks, they can take advantage of the saloon and upper-deck library. Large windows on all three decks are sure to be appreciated, too, as is the overall 3,660 square feet (340 square meters) of living space.
Because of the intended long-range cruising, JFA Shipyard and Vripack paid close attention to sound and vibration attenuation. The yacht complies with both Bureau Veritas and MCA regulations.
