Rybovich Superyacht Marina regularly finds favor with megayacht owners and their crews alike for its service—and by “service,” we mean more than just refit and dockage. Rybovich has been upgrading and expanding its crew-oriented facilities, to make short and long stays alike more enjoyable. The newest among these are an expanded fitness center and a new cafe.
The fitness center now has more room, due it its popularity, as well as new machines. Similar to ultra-modern gyms operated by large corporations, the fitness center at Rybovich further has new cardio equipment fitted with iPod docks and TVs.
As for the eatery (pictured), which is appropriately named M/Y Cafe, it’s intended to serve meals and snacks throughout the day. Miller Construction, the general contractor for the cafe and gym, likens M/Y Cafe to a “country club-caliber cafe.”
Miller Construction further served as contractor for a new maintenance building completed at the same time as the gym and cafe. All together, the new facilities, designed by the Peacock + Lewis architecture firm, comprise more than 16,500 square feet. They were completed within two months’ time.
The new gym and cafe join the existing crew lounge and crew swimming pool. Why so much attention being paid to crew? As George Whitehouse, Rybovich’s vice president, told us in his Megayacht News Leadership Series interview, “Rybovich believes that captains, crew, subcontractors, and vendors to the marine industry are professionals and should be treated by shipyards in that manner.”
