Based on two hull forms it has previously employed, Proteksan-Turquoise is shopping around the Pro 750 Golden and Pro 620 Golden. Both megayacht concepts emphasize interior volume while giving owners and guests extra ways to enjoy on-the-water living.
Proteksan Turquoise’s in-house designer, Selahattin Üldas, penned both the Pro 750 Golden and the Pro 620 Golden. The numeral in each megayacht’s model name hints at the LOAs: The 750 is 75 meters (246 feet), while the 620 is 62 meters (203 feet). Both displacement yachts are expected to deliver the same performance: 17-knot top end and 15-knot cruise. (While Proteksan-Turquoise has not supplied the engine manufacturer, Caterpillar is likely. Caterpillar engines delivering the same horsepower and performance figures as both Golden projects have been used on previous Proteksan-Turquoise deliveries or are specified for designs on its books.)
Rising six decks high, the Proteksan-Turquoise Pro 750 Golden (above) incorporates the 230-foot (70-meter) steel hull form that the Turkish shipyard has used in the past, for launches like Talisman C. With 42’7” (13 meters) of beam, the Pro 750 Golden is intended for 14 total in the owner’s party and a complement of 18 crew, including the captain. Deep windows spread across the decks let everyone take in the inviting views, particularly if they’re in their staterooms. That’s because all six guest cabins are forward on the main deck, while the owner has an entire deck one level up. All crewmembers except for the captain are housed forward on the lower deck. Their good-size mess is adjacent to the Pro 750 Golden’s main galley, to port.
While there is a so-called standard general arrangement for the Pro 750 Golden’s interior, Proteksan-Turquoise also offers a handful of alternatives. For example, in the standard layout, a gym is amidships on the lower deck, adjacent to an intimate lounge to starboard. That lounge becomes a beach club when a partition outboard folds down over the water. One alternate arrangement replaces the lounge/beach club and the gym with a large cinema. Yet another arrangement preserves the lounge/beach club but makes it bigger, taking floor space from the gym.
Another changeable space is the owner’s deck. Some interested clients may like their stateroom situated aft, with an office and private saloon forward. An alternative offered swaps the rooms, placing the sleeping area fully forward.
Besides LOA, the primary difference between the Pro 750 Golden and the Pro 620 Golden (above) is the number of decks. Based on the proven 197-foot (60-meter) hull form, the 620 features five decks. A voluminous 33’8” (1-.4-meter) beam should keep the party of 14, including the owners, comfortable. They also get to enjoy a gym, library, massage area, and plenty of alfresco spaces, similar to those of the 750. The Pro 620 Golden also similarly allows clients flexibility in arranging the owner’s suite. Some buyers might like the layout placing it forward on the main deck. Others may prefer the arrangement with it aft on the upper deck. Either way, a crew of 14 (plus captain) have dedicated passageways and decks for going about their duties.
