If this doesn’t make you feel like a kid again, there’s something wrong with you. Introducing the Climbing Wall, developed by Green Yachts. Both Green Yachts and its distribution partner, Eco Yacht Toys, say the Climbing Wall is the first of its kind for megayachts.
While a standard measurement of 16’4” x 9’8” (5 meters x 3 meters) is available, the Climbing Wall can also be manufactured to custom sizes. That includes not just a vertical wall as illustrated here, but even a horizontal one.
Either way, Green Yachts says that the Climbing Wall was developed with input from professional rock climbers. While it’s difficult to see in the photo illustrations, green, yellow, and red colors are used for the “rocks,” and each color set is a different size. They denote three climbing routes and therefore levels of difficulty. Green, for example, signifies the easiest, while red is the most challenging. Unlike a real rock-climbing expedition, falling might just be part of the fun, ending in a splashdown.
James Econs, head of business development for Eco Yacht Toys, says, “We have been so excited about this project since starting our collaboration with Green Yachts, and we know that it has huge potential to be the toy of 2013.”
The Climbing Wall price is available upon inquiry, though Econs says it’s comparable to that of a smaller custom Freestyle Cruiser slide, another popular watertoy found on a few megayachts.
