The year 2009 marked the launch of the biggest Moonen megayacht, the 125’2” (38.16-meter) Northlander. Rather than simply be the biggest model to date, the trideck Northlander has a few twists on typical interior and alfresco arrangements. For one, the megayacht eschews a skylounge in favor of an alfresco lounge, shaded by the overhang of the flying bridge and with windows to each side. Also take note in the video of the “mushroom” on the flying bridge. Northlander has an internal spiral staircase that’s topped by a pop-up roof. When someone wants to access the hot tub or other flying-bridge features, the roof, further fitted with a skylight, rises up and resembles a mushroom with a lean stem—a stylish one, of course.
