Gentlemen (and ladies), start your engines: Finish Line, a 120’7” (36.7-meter) megayacht built by Trinity Yachts, in now in the hands of her owner, an auto-racing and yachting enthusiast.
The all-aluminum, raised-pilothouse Finish Line was commissioned by an American, who has also registered the 26-foot-beam (8-meter-beam) yacht stateside. You might remember that when Trinity signed the contract in 2011, the owner conveyed his desire to help create jobs in the United States.
Because of his passion for racing, Finish Line will visit Daytona Beach, Florida, among other areas. A shallow draft of 5’6” (1.7 meters) will assist in that regard. No doubt the automotive crowd will appreciate the megayacht’s power: twin 2,600-hp MTUs promise a top speed around 23 knots. Scaled back to 10 knots, Finish Line should see a 3,670-nautical-mile range.
Inside, YachtNext fashioned the accommodations for eight in the owner’s party and five crewmembers. The master suite is full beam, as usual, though below decks, just forward of the engine room and down the foyer from the three guest staterooms. A good amount of real estate on the main deck is occupied by the galley, for good reason (other than making the chef happy). There’s a casual corner dining area here as well as barstools along the prep island, for the ultimate up-close food-prep experience (and, no doubt, sneaking a taste or two while the chef isn’t looking). Since the owner plans to entertain here, and throughout Finish Line, it’s a terrific setup.
Further entertaining can occur in the megayacht’s saloon, on the aft deck, and on the flying bridge, all containing a bar. and dining areas.
You can see Finish Line yourself at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show next month.
