Add Foam to the growing list of more than 130 custom yachts built by Admiral Tecnomar’s Admiral Yachts brand. The 115-footer (35-meter), with an eye-catching grey hull, splashed on May 16 in Italy.
The steel-hulled Foam is part of the Admiral Classique series. Specifically, she’s an Admiral Classique 35. (The “35” in her model name designates her LOA in meters.) Foam was entirely designed by the in-house naval architecture and design studio. The owner conveyed both exterior styling and interior design details to the team.
Among those details was a desire for a traditional-looking megayacht that also reflected some more modern elements. The raised-pilothouse configuration of Foam is certainly time-tested. Of course, the large ports along the main deck are in keeping with contemporary design. So, too, are the floor-to-ceiling glass panels amidships and the accompanying lowered bulwarks. Together, they create a balcony-like feel aboard Foam. The natural light is surely reflected by the stainless steel used in the decor, which is complemented by leather and woods.
For the full outdoor ambiance, the owner of Foam and guests can head to the flying bridge. Admiral pledged to make it as large as is appropriate, and maximize usable space. It’s primarily devoted to relaxation, as is the beach club at the waterline.
Inside, Foam follows a mostly classic configuration. The saloon occupies much of the main deck, containing sitting and dining areas. Three guest staterooms, including a VIP, are all below decks. Three cabins for crew and the captain are also down below. However, Foam does make some unexpected departures in her general arrangement. The full-beam master suite, for example, is not situated forward on the main deck. Rather, it’s below, with the guests. So, what occupies the fully forward space on the main deck? It’s two things, actually: the galley, and the crew mess. Even though some other European megayacht owners prefer the primary cooking area to be fully within the crew’s quarters—meaning below decks—it’s most unusual for any yacht of this LOA to have a crew mess on the main deck.
Admiral Tecnomar has not released anticipated performance data for Foam. However, she is a full-displacement megayacht, so it’s safe to assume speeds in the low teens. It’s also safe to assume she’ll have transatlantic range.
Foam is the first of six megayachts that Admiral Tecnomar plans to launch by the end of June.
