The largest megayacht to date from ISA Yachts is in the water. She’s the ISA 66M Granturismo, the queen of the Granturismo line. LOA: 217’9” (66.4 meters). While she has a traditional full-displacement hull form, her lines are anything but traditional. The ISA 66M Granturismo looks more like a fast maxi open. And that’s partly the idea. ISA Yachts wanted to maximize alfresco space the way that design does, but without sacrificing the comfort that comes from full-displacement projects.
Like many ISA Yachts megayachts, the ISA 66M Granturismo bears styling by Andrea Vallicelli. She rises four decks high, deceivingly. The plumb bow commands your attention as much as the shapely aft sections do. The owner’s team worked closely with Vallicelli, and ISA Yachts, to ensure the owner’s vision was transformed. ISA Yachts’ in-house technical team collaborated with BMT Nigel Gee for naval architecture. Well before the first steel plate was cut for the hull, four months of tank tests took place. The owner’s team was involved in these as well.
For the interior of the ISA 66M Granturismo, the owner tapped Alberto Pinto. The 36’1” (11-meter) beam and good space planning provide the owner and guests with generous relaxation areas. Outside, there’s the main aft deck, a sun-drenched area directly above it, and a super-private seating area forward of the wheelhouse. There’s additionally a sundeck. ISA Yachts has not yet provided photos or drawings of the ISA 66M Granturismo interior. However, there are 12 staterooms for the owner and his party, plus five twin cabins and the captain’s cabin. Three more single cabins house staff.
Because the ISA 66M Granturismo is full displacement, speeds are moderate. Top end at half load should be 18 knots. Cruise should be 16½ knots. Power comes from twin Caterpillar 3512C diesels. The megayacht should look sharp at any speed. Why? The ISA 66M Granturismo bears a metallic paint job: Dupont black for the hull, Dupont silver for the superstructure.
