The first Sanlorenzo SD126 was signed earlier this year and will be handed over to American owners. They, and you, won’t have to wait long. The Sanlorenzo SD126 will be displayed at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
Like most Sanlorenzo megayacht models, the SD126 evolved from an existing one. Specifically, the semi-displacement (hence the “SD” desgination) yacht is based on the SD122. Clearly the longer length is one primary difference. There are additional changes, of course. For one, the Sanlorenzo SD126 has a fold-down balcony off the saloon. The dining area just forward, open to the saloon, is flanked by full-height glass. This further brings the outdoors inside. Better yet at doing this aboard the Sanlorenzo SD126 are two other rooms. One is the main-deck master suite, with gullwing ports. The other is the skylounge, where all of the glass can slide open.
The changes reflected by the Sanlorenzo SD126 extend outside as well. Pure alfresco enjoyment comes from a foredeck lounging area with a hot tub. (On a side note, it’s a wonder that it took this long for the industry at large to make more use of this space.) Other great places for a dip are the flying bridge, with a pool, and the longer swim platform. The overall flying bridge is lengthened, too, partly shaded by a hardtop.
The owner is working with interior designer Mary Lowe, who collaborates with Sanlorenzo of the Americas. The rendering here reveals a light-gray stain for the oak paneling. Matte-finished lacquer panels alternate with the wood. There’s also maple cabinetry and stainless steel-framed leather aboard. All of the materials are used throughout the megayacht, including the two VIP and two twin staterooms below decks. The crew’s quarters will be finished to a complementary standard. It’s interesting to note that the Sanlorenzo SD126 will provide a captain’s cabin aft of the wheelhouse, a first for one of the builder’s yachts in this size range.
