Project Hé, so-named by Bannenberg & Rowell and Heesen Yachts to reflect her simplified yet still sophisticated interior, has gained owners. They’ll take delivery in February 2015. Project Hé is part of the steel-hulled Heesen 47M Displacement series. LOA is 153’2” (46.7 meters).
Project Hé gets her name from the phonetic version of a Chinese character, 和. Various Chinese-English dictionaries translate it to mean harmony or peace. By extension, it also means balance and order. Dickie Bannenberg of Bannenberg & Rowell says similar concepts were the design ideal behind Project Hé, hence the choice of name. The goal is to eliminate extraneous elements and leave just the essentials, for true elegance.
Project Hé therefore employs textures and tones that combine for a calming ambiance. Full details are not yet available. However, the renderings above and below give some idea of what the overall effect will be. A party of 12 will be accommodated. And, LEDs will play a significant role. They will be concealed in some areas, filtered in others, behind venetian blinds. Project Hé will also have a main-deck master suite and four guest staterooms below decks. Two of the four will be twin cabins, further featuring pullman berths. Given other Heesen 47M Displacement megayachts, the beam of 29’10” (8.83 meters) should make these and other spaces comfortable.
Also based on previous Heesen 47M Displacement yachts, Project Hé should see a 4,000-nautical-mile range at 12 knots. She’ll be powered by twin MTUs. Top speed at half load should be 15 knots. A deep draft of 10’1” (3.07 meters) comes with the full-displacement hull form. The hull additionally is fitted with a bulbous bow.
Project Hé is being built to Lloyd’s classification, plus compliance with LY2 and MCA requirements.
In case you track designer-builder collaborations, Project Hé marks the fifth megayacht that Heesen and Bannenberg & Rowell have done. The previous projects are Aurelia, Raasta (ex-Elandess), Lady Petra, My Secret, and Galactica Star.
