UDPATE, JANUARY 28, 2016: Numarine now has a U.S.-based sales representative, Maryland-based Grande Yachts. Read on for the original story about warranty and maintenance.
Turkey-based Numarine has set its sights on American, Caribbean, and Latin American yacht buyers. The recently established Numarine North America will handle service for these owners.
Numarine offers performance-oriented yachts and megayachts to 130 feet. Most thus far are hardtop or flying-bridge models, though a new explorer design is being marketed for build. The yacht pictured here, for example, is the new look for the 78 Flybridge, which has been offered for several years.
Numarine North America is comprised of service representatives who in turn can tap service providers across North America. This way, according to Ian Birdsall, Numarine’s managing director, “whenever a Numarine owner requires service or repair, regardless of where the boat is located or who originally sold the boat, we just take care of it. It’s that simple.” Numarine has its own central sales and marketing team in the UK, handling global sales.
Numarine North America was actually established in March, headed by Parker Stair. Stair was previously the vice president of sales and marketing for MasterCraft, which builds wakeboarding and ski boats. The news was just now announced because Numarine wanted to train all of its representatives at the yard. “We didn’t want to go the route of large, multi-line yacht brokers,” Birdsall explains. The builder believed it was better for the new staff to gain personal knowledge of how each yacht and megayacht is built.
You’ll get a chance to see how the Numarine 78 Flybridge is built at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. One will be in the water at the Bahia Mar displays. The Numarine North America team will also be there.
