More companies are entering the custom-tender business. Witness Younique Yachts, a Dutch company collaborating with fellow Dutch marine-industry firms.
Younique Yachts’ first delivery is pictured here, a limousine tender for the CRN-built Yalla. LOA for the all-aluminum boat is 31 feet (9.5 meters). She reportedly hit 40 knots on sea trials. The tender features an aft cockpit and seating, plus a climate-controlled interior outfitted with leather settees to each side (below). Teak lies underfoot both outside and inside. Younique Yachts collaborated with Omega Architects for the design, since the firm was also responsible for Yalla. The client requested a tender that bore some similarities to the mothership. Take a good look at the curved glass. The color is the same as the glass of Yalla., thanks to spectral analysis. Younique Yachts shaped the glass sections on molds, each of the latter being hand-built.
Because garage height and crane-load capacity impact tender selection, Younique Yachts prefers getting involved while your yacht is still on paper. It works with your builder and designer so that its own naval architects can present accurate 3D drawings to you, for a proper overview of your project. Younique Yachts’ owner, Egbert Wattel, says this provides a further benefit to the shipyard. The builder can place the tender in the garage to check and, if needed, adjust the cranes while the yacht is in build.
Younique Yachts constructs its all-aluminum tenders and chase boats, plus RIBs, at Makkum-based Hutting Yachts. Hutting’s emphasis on fast boats to 49 feet (15 meters) suits the target market for Younique Yachts: owners searching for performance-oriented guest and crew tenders. Younique Yachts further collaborates with Van Oossanen Naval Architects, well-known for its experience in the superyacht sector.
Owners’ and guests’ needs aren’t the only ones that the company keeps in mind. It strives to make maintenance simple for crew. Should you or your captain so wish, it can install GPS monitoring for the tender’s systems. You’ll receive an alert when service is needed. In addition, Younique Yachts will ensure necessary replacement parts are sent to your destination.
Even with its custom approach, Younique Yachts offers set pricing, without change orders. For more details directly from the company, please fill out our contact form.
