Besides celebrating its 25th anniversary this September, the Monaco Yacht Show will have additional slips for 328-foot-plus (100-meter-plus) megayachts and reconfigured tents.
The reconfiguration largely affects the Darse Nord tent. For years, it has been near the Designer’s Gallery and T Central displays. However, a recently started, long-term construction project means it must be relocated. It will now be along Quai Antoine 1er , home to the famed Stars and Bars restaurant/bar. The tent will be renamed accordingly and divided into two. The Quai Antoine 1er A tent will be forward of Stars and Bars, while Quai Antoine 1er B, a smaller tent, will be between the Quai des Artists restaurant and Stars and Bars.
The Darse Sud tent, which has long housed the Monaco Yacht Show main entrance and VIP car entrance, remains in its customary location. However, these two just-mentioned entrances will move to the far end of the Quai Antoine 1er A tent—near where the yacht club once stood.
As to the larger megayachts, the Monaco Yacht Show will include three extra berths along Quai Rainier III. If you’ve attended the show previously, you’ll recall this area just started being used in recent years. It has provided dockage for super-size superyachts from exhibitors like Lürssen and Oceanco. The new berths now bring the total in-basin megayachts tally to 121.
Also if you’ve attended the Monaco Yacht Show previously, surely you’re thinking the reconfiguration will make getting around a challenge. Thankfully organizers have several solutions. Golf carts will whisk you from Darse Sud to the Quai Antoine 1er A entrance. A bigger floating shuttle, for 50 passengers, will complement the usual fleet of shuttle tenders stopping at the customary locations. More helpers will be on hand to provide directions and information, as will more signs. And, 600 more parking spots will be available in the two garages near the new entrance.
Should you have a client meeting, or just end up needing a break, the Monaco Yacht Show plans to deliver here, too. They anticipate having a bar near the Quai Antoine 1er A tent.
