If you’re cruising the Caribbean this season, add The Marina at Christophe Harbour to your itinerary. The superyacht-specific facility in St. Kitts celebrated its grand opening this past weekend—and is offering free dockage deals.
While a few megayachts actually began visiting in December, The Marina at Christophe Harbour wasn’t yet finished with its phase-one development. Currently, 24 side-to berths are available for megayachts to 220 feet (67 meters). Further phases will eventually see a total of 300 berths become available. Sixty of them will accommodate megayachts to 300 feet (91.4 meters). They’ll be complemented by a marina village containing hotels and shops. A restaurant, called The Pavilion, is already open, as is SALT Plage, a bar.
To entice interest, The Marina at Christophe Harbour is providing complimentary three nights’ dockage. Besides this and the above-mentioned amenities, a few items make the locale attractive. It’s equidistant from Antigua and St. Barths (55 miles) and just a little farther from St. Maarten. The Marina at Christophe Harbour is an official port of entry, with expedited on-site customs and immigration clearance. The marina staff can also arrange the latter at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, a few minutes away. The service benefits both commercial-jet passengers and those arriving via private plane at the new FBO terminal. On a related note, guests and yacht crew are treated to individual lounges at the FBO. The Marina at Christophe Harbour additionally offers in-slip duty-free fuel and other provisions. Of course, 24-hour security is on property, too.
A number of residences are being built as part of the larger Christophe Harbour community. Waterfront and hillside homes are available. Some will overlook a bay with two reefs that is remaining untouched (no anchoring allowed). An 18-hole Tom Fazio-designed golf course is in the works as well.
