Hull number one of the Custom Line 108 series has a few weeks left before hand-over. However, her owner is getting a good look at her floating on her lines for the first time.
The Custom Line 108 (108 feet, or 32.95 meters) picks up where the Custom Line 100 and other Ferretti Group models have left off. The new yacht shares the striking, forceful styling of the 100. The 108 also has the Dual Mode Transom, which means the transom door flips either up or down to reveal the tender garage/beach club. And, the Custom Line 108 has an infotainment system that lets a tablet or other device control music, movies, and more anywhere onboard. We don’t know if the setup on this first unit in the series also incorporates feeds from the CCTV system, though it is an option for clients.
Interior outfitting still needs to be completed on the yacht. With a beam of 23’9” (7.25 meters), the Custom Line 108 allows buyers to personalize the interior spaces. There are accommodations for 10, including a main-deck owner’s stateroom. The specific decor materials have not been disclosed, though they include customary items like leathers, marbles, and woods, plus LEDs for direct and indirect lighting. When the Ferretti Group announced the series, it indicated that some finishes and materials would be exclusive to the Custom Line 108.
Sea trials will take place during the next month. The Ferretti Group expects a 26-knot top speed and 23-knot cruise under MTU power. Distances at those speeds are suited for coastal cruising: 350 and 430 nautical miles, respectively. Once sea trials are completed, this first Custom Line 108 will be presented to the owner, from Europe, in a formal celebration. Other clients of the Ferretti Group will then get a chance to see the yacht just prior to the Cannes Yachting Festival, at a special event. The Custom Line 108 will go on to be exhibited at the yacht show.
Three more Custom Line 108s are in various stages of construction.
