The largest superyacht for charter in Sydney, Australia fittingly escorted a new Rolls-Royce model into town this week.
The 139’4” (42.5 meters) Tango, built by Oceanfast in 2006, cruised into Sydney Harbour with the convertible, to be called Dawn, on her top deck. Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, CEO of Rolls-Royce, calls the Dawn “the sexiest Rolls-Royce ever built.” While the two-door, four-seater convertible was announced four years ago, it’s starting production next year.
Tango was chosen because Cameron Bray, owner of Bray Management, which offers her for charter, also represents the car company. “The brief was to launch the yacht in a way that encompasses not only the alfresco feeling of the vehicle, but also encapsulates the open and outdoor lifestyle of Australia, so what better way than on a superyacht,” Bray explains. “And obviously as the car is named the ‘Dawn,’ we wanted to capture the ‘Dawn at dawn.’”
Some news reports have the Rolls’ price tag at £250,000 (about $377,000 at press time). Why go with the car, though. when you can charter Tango in Australia for day cruises in Sydney Harbour, or for several days in the Whitsundays? Up to 70 people can be onboard for the former. Parties of eight can stay in four staterooms for the latter. Additionally enticing amenities aboard Tango include a cigar lounge on the flying bridge (which itself is quite the entertainment deck), a sauna/spa, and a helipad. Picture yourself arriving offshore via helicopter; that may just trump the Rolls-Royce Dawn. Tango’s charter rates are AUD$40,000 plus expenses on a daily basis and AUD$165,000 plus expenses on a weekly basis.
Check out Tango as she totes the “sexiest” Rolls-Royce, with Sydney’s famed opera house and bridge clearly visible.
