While Monaco gets the lion’s share of attention in terms of yacht shows, stateside events have long been draws for international builders, too. Next month’s Yachts Miami Beach (formerly the Yacht & Brokerage Show) will have strong showings of megayachts on the so-called smaller end of the scale. Some of the megayachts you can expect to see from February 11 to 15 include:
Astondoa Century 110. Spain-based Astondoa is making a concerted effort to market more in North America. Yachts Miami Beach will see a celebration of its 100th anniversary. The Century 110 was conceived by the yard with Cristiano Gatto Design to commemorate the milestone. The yacht is sleek, with a beachy-cool interior. Bleached oak mixes with dark-stained oak, along with a variety of neutral-toned soft goods like leather.
Mangusta 80 and 94. Americans comprise a significant portion of Mangusta buyers. These two maxis are semi-custom models, offering multiple interior configurations. You can even request changes to the superstructure, too. That’s why the Mangusta 94 (above) has a flying bridge; one customer asked for it, and the yard liked it. The Mangusta 80, meanwhile, is a traditional open.
Sanlorenzo SD126. Seen in the video above, the SD126 is a 10-passenger, four-deck semi-displacement yacht. Hull number one premiered in Europe last year. If you’re a Sanlorenzo fan, you’ll find familiar features like a fold-down balcony off the saloon. Alfresco areas, like the bow seating area and hot tub, are emphasized, too.
Outer Reef 86 Deluxbridge. Outer Reef took its popular 86 Classic and turned her into a full-beam series, with this being hull number one. The skylounge and helm are open to one another, a plus for owner-operators. Casual cruisers will also appreciate the country kitchen.
Expect to find a variety of megayachts from longtime exhibitors Westport, Hargrave Custom Yachts, and Horizon at Yachts Miami Beach, too. They, and all of the above-mentioned megayachts, will be on display at the longstanding Collins Avenue portion of the show. Yachts Miami Beach also has a new display area on Watson Island, at the Island Gardens marina being developed there. So far the show website doesn’t have details on its displays, so check it in the weeks leading up to the dates.
