When your guests want to go waterskiing, wakeboarding, or tubing, your limo tender just won’t do. It’s also not the right tool for the task if you like pulling right up on shore for the day. That’s why MasterCraft Boats UK, offering a number of superyacht-specific versions of its speedboats, came up with the NXT20 Global Edition.
The primary advantage of the NXT20 Global Edition is that it’s an outboard model. The standard engine is a 175-hp Mercury Verado; a 225-hp engine is optional. MasterCraft hasn’t offered an outboard-powered boat in about two decades. Customer requests helped convince the company to reconsider. Helping matters, the Verado is touted for good fuel burn and power output, plus lower sound and vibration. Fuel capacity: 45 gallons (170 liters).
The 20-foot (6.1-meter) NXT20 Global Edition can carry 12 people, with seating split between fore and aft seating areas. Your crew can ferry you and your guests door to door, so to speak, for a beachside barbecue: They can beach the boat. If you don’t plan on that, shallow waters are still not out of the question. With the outboard down, draft is 2’5” (0.76 meter); draft becomes 1’3” (0.38 meter). For towing, water skiers and wakeboarders will appreciate the small platform to each side of the engine.
You will also appreciate being able to make the boat match her mothership. As MasterCraft has done with its other models, the NXT20 Global Edition can have the same hull color as your yacht. The vinyl lounge seating and cabin carpeting also come in a range of colors. A number of other customizable features are available, too, upon request.
Pricing starts at £54,995 (about $80,100 at press time).
