Yachting Developments’ Hull 1012 has a name, and has had her first taste of salt water. She’s Cygnus Montanus, and she was feted at her launch over the weekend.
The 110’10” (33.83-meter) Cygnus Montanus was commissioned by experienced sailors. Their inspiration: to cruise the world, including off-the-beaten-path locales, and to do so with a small crew. Frers Naval Architecture incorporated a lifting keel into her design to allow the sloop to access remote regions. (With the keel fully down, draft is 15’9” , or 4.86 meters.) A Cummins diesel will motor Cygnus Montanus in and out of anchorages, too.
The all-carbon-fiber sailing superyacht is still to receive her mast, and finishing touches inside. Adam Lay Studio worked with the owners to create a family-friendly environment. Cygnus Montanus will welcome eight in the owners’ party, in three guest staterooms and the owners’ stateroom. The master cabin occupies the 26’4” (8.03-meter) beam aft. Each has its own decor, echoing the owners’ travels over the years aboard their previous yacht. We don’t yet have details on the decor materials used. However, skylights throughout the relaxation spaces on Cygnus Montanus should make all spaces bright.
Delivery is set for next month, following the stepping of the 166-foot-high (50.5-meter-high) mast.
