The region in and around Portofino, Italy is on many a must-visit list. More to the point, the picturesque bays are on many a megayacht must-visit list. One of the world’s largest yachts, Rising Sun, recently paid a visit there, captured in aerial detail.
Rising Sun spent some time off the coast of Santa Margherita Ligure last week. The 453-footer (138-meter) dwarfed all the other boats and yachts docked at a nearby marina. Had she been closer to shore, the megayacht may very well have dwarfed some of the buildings, too.
The 12-year-old yacht is an active global cruiser. Over the years, she has been spotted amid multiple Caribbean islands, plus in France, Spain, Denmark, and elsewhere in Europe.
Rising Sun is still in Italy as of presstime, though she has moved farther south along the shoreline.
At the 1:30 mark, you can skip ahead to about 2:45 to get a last look at her against the horizon.
