Yacht owners and guests adore wakeboarding, wakesurfing, tubing, and more, so tenders need to adapt accordingly. U.S.-based MasterCraft Boats created the MasterCraft XT23 with those very pursuits in mind. It’s a leader in the towboat market, in fact. And, its UK-based division, which handles global sales for superyachts, is, as usual, tailoring the boat to superyacht-specific situations.
Among the things that MasterCraft Boats UK is already doing: switching the inboard to a Yanmar diesel, from a gasoline engine. It’s also covering the seating (for 16) of each MasterCraft XT23 with the color of customer choice, to complement the mothership. The material is MasterCraft’s Cool Feel vinyl, which doesn’t get hot even in prolonged sun. Speaking of colors, even the gelcoat—and flake patterns—and more varied. Then there’s stowage for the plethora of wakeboards, waterskis, and gear galore with which you and your friends plan to play.
Your crew should appreciate the available options, too. The 23-foot (7-meter) boat can feature MasterCraft’s DockStar Handling System. It’s made for better maneuvering in reverse and around tight docks or crowded marinas. The MasterCraft XT23 has two low-profile rudders as part of this system, something other inboard towboats don’t.
The system complements MasterCraft’s hull, designed purposely for the ever-changing watersports we all want to pursue. The MasterCraft XT23 is a crossover of sorts, for its ability to smooth the way for waterskiers one moment and then create the perfect wake for wakesurfers the next. The boat features the builder’s Surf System, engineered for maintaining consistent speed and ideal conditions, all from a touchscreen.
The superyacht specialists can assist your crew with cradles for the MasterCraft XT23, too. The boat’s dry weight is 5,000 pounds (2,268 kilograms), and beam is 8’5” (about 2.6 meters).
