Refit International Exhibition & Conference is announcing its speakers for the 2017 seminar program. These respected international professionals have technical and management qualifications.
Owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine, the Refit Show is an annual trade event. From January 26 to 27 at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, it features seminars and exhibits for yacht-refit professionals. The hour-long seminars share ideas for industry advancement. Show organizers carefully select speakers based on their depth of experience in their fields.
Andre Cocquyt is a composites expert known for leading the United States in closed-molding technology. He wrote the curriculum for the American Composites Manufacturing Association certification in vacuum infusion. Cocquyt will demonstrate vacuum-infusion repairs daily.
Steve D’Antonio is a versatile business and technical professional with two decades of marine-industry experience. A technical editor for Professional BoatBuilder, D’Antonio is a former boatyard manager, an advocate for boat buyers and builders, and an ABYC-certified technician. He will present technical and management seminars.
A popular speaker at the 2016 Refit Show, Ben Ford of the law firm Verrill Dana will discuss more hot-button legal issues. Ben is experienced in concerns such as billing and collections, new overtime rules, regulatory issues, and contracts.
Show organizers will announce additional speakers on its website as it confirms seminars. The conference program will include five seminar sessions, each with three topic options. The conference is concurrent with the exhibition, open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm on January 26, and from 9:30am to 3:00pm on January 27. As with the 2016 event, the Refit Show shares Hall A of the convention center with the International Marina and Boatyard Conference (IMBC). Refit Show attendees can walk IMBC free of charge.
