Attend Seminars Covering 15 Important Refit Topics, too
Refit International Exhibition & Conference registration is now open for the 2017 event. Held at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the Refit Show takes place January 26 and 27.
Owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder magazine, the annual trade event features seminars as well as an exhibit hall. It’s exclusively for yacht refit professionals and yacht owners. The conference program focuses on sharing ideas to advance the industry. The exhibit hall, meanwhile, contains refit-specific manufacturers, distributors, and service providers, including yacht yards.
Furthermore, the show conference program includes five seminar sessions, each with three topic options from which to choose. International speakers who are experts in their respective fields are presenting them, in fact. Seminars are divided among four tracks: Business Management, Project Management, Ships’ Systems, and Hulls & Structures. Seminar attendees are eligible to receive continuing education units (CEUs) for verified attendance, too.
The conference is concurrent with the exhibition, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on January 26, and 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on January 27. Show organizers developed the 2017 conference program based on feedback from the industry and captains. As for topics, technical subjects include repowering, hybrid/electric power, U.S./European conversions, infused repairs, corrosion, and yacht instability at anchor. The management topics cover pre-refit inspection, billing and collections, communication, and diffusing difficult clients. The management seminars further include a captains’ roundtable, an overview of the Anodyne yacht rebuild, and a legal Q&A. Full seminar descriptions are online.
As with the 2016 event, the Refit Show shares Hall A of the convention center with the International Marina and Boatyard Conference (IMBC). Attendees can walk IMBC’s area free of charge.
