A French owner delighted at the sight of his first Sanlorenzo slipping into the water in Italy this month. Christened Taiji, she’s a Sanlorenzo SL86.
Taiji represents the ninth SL86 launched since the series debuted two years ago. Sporty styling and an equally sporty top speed around 30 knots characterize the series. Open-plan living is another hallmark. Even though there are two different layout options for the SL86, both have a clear line of sight from the helm to the aft deck. Eight people and three crewmembers can stay aboard as well.
Sanlorenzo has not revealed details on how the owner of Taiji has arranged his yacht. However, two options exist for the below-decks accommodations, and crew area. In one, the galley goes in the same space as the crew cabins. This subtly affects the VIP stateroom floorspace and configuration. Either way, the master stateroom is full beam aft. (Beam is 20’8”, or 6.35 meters.) Furthermore, the SL86 has two twin staterooms between the master and VIP.
On a related note, Taiji was one of three yachts that launched within five days at Sanlorenzo. The other two were an SD126 and an SL96.
