The style of Wally’s sailing yachts, motoryachts, and tenders turns many a person’s head. So far, though, sales have focused overseas. That’s now changing, since Wally has tapped G Marine as its representative throughout the Americas for the Wallytender in particular. As a result, the boat is making its U.S. debut at this month’s Yachts Miami Beach.
Both the builder and the dealer believe South Florida- and Latin America-based buyers will especially like the Wallytender. The 45-footer (13.7-meter) is ideal as a chase boat accompanying a megayacht, or a secondary boat on her own. She can further take water-skiers and up to 12 passengers on thrilling rides. In fact, the Wallytender appearing at the show, a Wallytender X model, has triple 400-hp Mercury Verado outboards for a reported 60-knot top speed. Speed is enhanced by lightweight carbon composite construction.
Not every trip aboard has to be at full throttle, clearly. You can turn off the engines and spend the day at anchor. Two sun lounges, one forward and one aft, let you and your friends spread out. The forward lounge converts for lunches or cocktails, too, due to a pop-up table. Two refrigerators onboard keep you refreshed. To provide some sun relief, the Wallytender comes with a hardtop. It shades both guest seating and the helm. If you want more shade, Wally offers optional awnings and carbon fiber supports, to cover both of the sunpads. You can even stay aboard, since a cabin and head are below decks.
With a 13-foot (3.96-meter) beam, the Wallytender also allows a variety of metallic paint colors. Teak decking is standard.
