If you’ll be attending next week’s Monaco Yacht Show, stop by the Feadship stand to see its latest concept project. While the Dutch builder won’t reveal any sneak peeks just yet, it’s describing the design, nicknamed F-Stream, as the embodiment of the latest concepts in hull design, featuring hybrid propulsion, and a layout reflecting how owners currently use their yachts.
In case you didn’t know, Feadship revealed its first-ever concept project at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show, an avant garde design if ever there was one: lots of glass panels and a bullet-like shape, with the fitting moniker X-Stream (pronounced “extreme”). Because the design attracted a lot of attention–including strong interest from at least one potential client–Feadship decided to make concept projects a regular part of its boat-show displays.
While we’ll all have to wait a week to see the F-Stream, you can get some insight into why Feadship began designing concept projects and how this one developed by listening to an exclusive podcast I did with Royal De Vries’ president, Henk De Vries, earlier this summer.
