Fog can be a captain’s worst nightmare. But it was a photographer’s delight last week, as Galactica Super Nova departed Heesen’s shipyard.
The photos here are among several that Heesen shared via its Facebook page. Last Wednesday, Galactica Super Nova traveled to Hellevoetsluis, The Netherlands, about 60 nautical miles away from Heesen’s headquarters in Oss, for her mast installation. A thick fog enveloped the waters along much of the way, before the day started to clear.
You may remember that the 230-footer (70-meter) was called project Kometa when she began construction. The owner stepped in during the build, a repeat customer of the yard.
Galactica Super Nova has a variety of entertainment spaces. One highlight is an infinity pool with a waterfall and glass bottom. The pool also features hydro-massage jets. At night, the foredeck can turn into an intimate movie theater, complete with a screen. These are among the overall total of 3,843 square feet (357 square meters) of usable deck space aboard Galactica Super Nova.
Lest we forget, the megayacht also has a beach club, which becomes bigger due to fold-down platforms. When the platforms are opened, it occupies about 1,572 square feet (146 square meters).
