Yacht shopping in the Med? Mark June 2 to 5 on your calendar. Those are the dates for the Cannes Collection. The event is a luxury-lifestyle show that, among other things, will include 24 megayachts. In the spirit of “try before you buy,” some exhibitors are offering sea trials on the spot, too.
The Cannes Collection is set against the city of Cannes’ Old Port (a.k.a. Vieux Port). In the mix are luxury cars, helicopters, private planes, art, watches (some vintage), and jewelry. But, the boats and yachts, 40 in all, should be the stars. Megayacht brokerage offerings include yachts built by Amels, Amer Yachts, Baglietto, Canados, Ferretti, Heesen, Overmarine Group (the Mangusta brand), and Palmer Johnson. A variety of tenders and watertoys will be on display, too.
Further to the idea of “try before you buy,” a number of exhibitors at the Cannes Collection are making leasing available. If one of the autos catches your eye, too, you can take it for a spin around the local area. And if you really want to buy it, you might be able to drive away with it.
Charitably minded visitors will want to attend a cocktail party during the Cannes Collection, on June 4. It benefits The Womanity Foundation. The organization supports gender equality through education, training, and empowerment for disadvantaged women and girls.
