Few yachts around the 80-foot mark offer multiple general arrangements. The Horizon E75 does, though, a direct result of the Taiwanese builder’s client requests.
Some of its customers have an air of formality aboard, emphasizing separation of crew and guest areas. For them, the Horizon E75 offers a galley forward on the main deck. But, others like to grab snacks themselves, or sit and talk with the chef. Therefore, the Horizon E75 has two additional configurations. The galley becomes a country kitchen fully forward or, in an unusual move, goes aft in the saloon. In that case, it’s open to the seating area and has low countertops and even barstools (below).
Australian buyers will get to see the aft-galley layout this month. Hull number one of the E75 debuts with it, at the Sydney International Boat Show. It’s ideal for owners who like seeing lunch or dinner come together as a sort of show. Speaking of shows, the same yacht has a freezer on the aft deck for icing down fish that local Horizon owners often pursue. So, the owners or crew can carry the catch from the ice box to the burner in no time.
American buyers can see a different layout aboard hull number two of the Horizon E75, debuting at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. She has a country kitchen, with a good-size U-shape dining area. And, while all versions have three staterooms below decks, this one has three heads. (The Sydney show version has two heads.) Furthermore, hull number two’s master stateroom has a larger port, a customized touch. And, finally, more powerful Caterpillar C32 engines and increased fuel capacity characterize the American version. Top speed is set for 27 knots. Standard Caterpillar C-18s allow 22 knots.
Overall, Horizon lets all of its customers choose from additional layout options. The upper deck comes as either an intimate skylounge, with an equally intimate alfresco area, or an open bridge. (Hulls one and two have the skylounge.) A hot tub can go on the upper deck, in proximity to a bar with a refrigerator and barbecue, as can a RIB. If the RIB isn’t enough off-boat adventure, the Horizon E75 can have a dive locker to port or starboard off the transom.
Standard features include a hydraulic swim platform, making getting into and out of the water simpler for divers or swimmers. Enjoying alfresco dining is possible toward the bow, where a sunpad also sits, or on the aft deck. Both tables accommodate eight. A crew cabin for two, accompanied by a head, refrigerator, workbench, and washer and dryer, all sit in the lazarette.
