The Mangusta GranSport 45 brings together luxury, space, performance, and efficiency. Here’s how.
Mangusta GranSport is the Overmarine Group’s line of fast displacement yachts. These combine the speed to outrun squalls and the range to explore uncrowded waters. This is in the maximum onboard comfort as per Mangusta’s tradition—a flawless combination that can be summarized as “pure versatility.” The 45-meter model from this series, the Mangusta GranSport 45 is rightfully a flagship. If not for her length, then for features and values she shares with the 54-meter version. She has the same harmonious blend of stylish design and technical solutions. The yacht also has a strong personality and timeless elegance, plus sporty features and comfort. Equally important, the Mangusta GranSport 45 has outstanding performance and maximum efficiency.
Her magnificent profile, designed by Alberto Mancini, is a timeless contemporary design that additionally combines with explosive Italian style. She has just received honors at World Yachts Trophies as “Best Exterior Design” 2019. She is a real beauty and does not have to show off to be noticed.
The propulsion system consists of three MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines, wherein two external engines connect to the fixed-pitch propeller shaft and a central engine connects to a KaMeWa maneuverable waterjet. This is a unique propulsion package that dramatically increase the flexibility of the Mangusta Gransport 45. In fact, the central unit allows driving the yacht to the maximum speed of 26 knots, therefore acting as a booster, or permits comfortable sailing at night, with only one engine running, silently, safely, and efficiently, at just 8 knots. This comfort level is comparable to a more complicated propulsion system. Furthermore, the central waterjet allows for the joystick option offering excellent maneuverability whether its cruising or in port, and other function, such as dynamic positioning.
With her exhilarating speed, transoceanic range (3,500 miles at 11 knots), and a draft of only 2.2 m (7’2”) for navigating in shallow waters, she offers her owner unlimited freedom of choice.
The second unit of Mangusta GranSport 45, project Amalfi, has just been sold, with the delivery expected in 2020.
