One of our favorite yachtie YouTubers is Jared Watney. A crewmember, he takes you behind the scenes of what life is like aboard superyachts. Clearly, we’re not alone in enjoying his work. His latest video, emulating a day as a guest on Bella, racked up 23,000 views in just its first four days online this past week.
The 148-foot (45-meter) megayacht initially saw delivery from Feadship in 2008 as part of its F45 Vantage series. Available for charter under owners who’ve had her for a little over a year, she is gaining a higher social-media profile, for good reason. With Watney’s help, the owners and crew are keen to educate potential guests about what their experience can be like.
The idea is to do it in a way that other yachts aren’t—meaning, to go well beyond the glossy brochures and pretty website pictures. While those reveal her amenities, including accommodations for 12 and great watertoys, they can’t reveal her crew’s personality. Neither can they reveal what it feels like to really be onboard—to feel as if you’re sitting down to a morning coffee and then following the captain down to the swim platform for some watersports. As the captain explains in the video, “I don’t necessarily need everybody, I just need people who want to be here.”
Enjoy your day as a guest on Bella (and you really do feel like a guest!). To learn more about this beautiful boat, check out her website, and contact your preferred charter broker. Her weekly rate is $200,000. Also check out Watney’s other videos on YouTube.
