Superyachts are reaping Caribbean Charter Yacht Show rewards.
With less than three months to go before the Caribbean Charter Yacht Show (CCYS), the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA) and IGY Marinas are extremely pleased that 18 superyachts have signed up thus far.
The world’s best superyacht marina is hosting the event. That marina is Yacht Haven Grande, on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The IGY flagship marina achieved this highest industry honor by receiving the Towergate 2021 International Superyacht Marina of the Year award from The Yacht Harbour Association. Moreover, it’s the only marina to have received this prestigious award a remarkable four times—in 2016, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Taking place from December 9 to 12, the CCYS is in direct response to widespread desire for a new charter show delivering tangible returns. Charter brokers have been calling for a more localized and targeted format, for example. They also want not just to visit participating yachts, but also get information on the best local cruising grounds, logistics, supplies, and shoreside support. Overall, they want detailed insight into the experiences they can confidently offer their clients.
BENEFITS OF EXHIBITING
For participating yachts, Yacht Haven Grande is the perfect environment. It’s capable of berthing vessels to 200 meters (656 feet) in one of the most popular winter charter destinations. Registration and dockage fees during the event are comparatively low, too. Plus, there’s no minimum stay requirement or high-season premium. Special flight arrangements, accommodations, and U.S. visa support resources are available. Of course, strict health and safety measures are in place.
Once registered, all yachts benefit from a host of promotional efforts for 12 months. Firstly, they appear on the show’s website and IYBA’s yachtbroker.org website. The charter-marketing platform Superyacht Stories produces a profile, featuring a beautifully presented overview, a Q&A with the captain and chef, sample menu, images, specs, and client testimonials. Social media promotion is included. The yacht profile further comes with a downloadable PDF, for client distribution and as a reference for brokers in the digital show program.
These are among the amazing yachts participating in the CCYS.
Helios 2. Blending modern and classic styles, this 51-meter yacht features five spacious staterooms, a hot tub, and numerous spaces for sunning, entertaining, and dining. Built in 2002, she was refitted in 2019 and sleeps 10.
Loon. Beautifully maintained since delivery in 2011, Loon is ideal for family fun. Her stunning beach club offers an incredible array of watertoys. These include a 27-foot inflatable slide. Her voluminous interior offers ample space to relax for up to 12 guests.
Hospitality. With a background in adventurous itineraries and a long range, Hospitality is well named—and well placed—to help you discover some of the world’s most desirable destinations. Sleeping 12 across seven impressive cabins, she also features a library, which cleverly converts into a spa/massage suite for the ultimate in pampering.
EXCITEMENT FOR THE CARIBBEAN CHARTER YACHT SHOW
“Securing our first 18 yachts for the CCYS is very exciting,” says Bert Fowles, IGY’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “The anticipation among the U.S. charter brokers is rapidly rising, and we are hugely looking forward to welcoming some of the leading European-based brokers to this wonderful part of the world.”
The exciting show agenda allows brokers ample opportunities to explore the yachts, plus network, socialize, and recharge. Above all, the CCYS is an opportunity to innovate compared to a traditional boat-show format. It’s a catalyst to build commercial goodwill, initiate charter business, and stimulate the winter charter season.
