Small diesel-powered tenders are in demand, both for their size and fuel advantages. Ribjet is one of the tender manufacturers fielding increased requests for them. That’s why this June, the Ribjet 10 Compact Diesel will be available for order.
Wisconsin-based Ribjet is the only tender maker in the United States solely focused on jet propulsion. Some of its customers have limited room for RIBs, while others don’t want to carry a big toy. The 10 Compact Diesel should appease them both. LOA is 10’6” (3.2 meters), with beam at 5’10” (1.8 meters). Equally noteworthy, it weighs about 770 pounds dry. These parameters make the RIB a good fit for flying bridges, tight tender garages, and even swim platforms. Furthermore, the fact that the tubes are made of Hypalon means the tender is durable.
The Ribjet 10 Compact Diesel features a 50-hp engine with a 150-mm jet pump and carries 9½ gallons (36 liters) of fuel. Those of you who use your tender for fun as much as shuttling to and from shore will appreciate the reported 30-mph top speed.
Pricing for the 10 Compact Diesel starts at $39,900. This includes four PFDs, docklines, an under-seat fire extinguisher, flares, and more. (All of those items are standard equipment for each Ribjet model.) Ribjet allows buyers to request a variety of options, too, from electronics to creature comforts. Furthermore, the company sells directly to consumers. All 10 Compact Diesel boats will come straight from its Wisconsin facility or Florida showroom.
