UPDATE, DECEMBER 17, 2024: Hull number one of the Sunreef 35M Eco yacht series is under contract. The owner is a client of Y.CO, the sixth customer the company has introduced to the shipyard overall. Delivery is expected in 36 months, after which the yacht will be available for charter through Y.CO. Read on for more details.

The Sunreef 35M Eco yacht delivers something that Sunreef Yachts committed to years ago. That is, she does not use fossil fuels for any maneuvering. Instead, the sailing catamaran combines traditional sails with an in-house-developed electric propulsion system.
Several Sunreef customers already have smaller models among its sailing-cat offerings. This 115-footer (35-meter) therefore should appeal to those wanting beamier, bigger spaces for a little more luxury. As for that beam, it’s 48 feet (nearly 15 meters). This width, especially for the main deck master, surely will make a strong impression. The master, by the way, has direct access to the foredeck, where a private lounge awaits.

Similarly, the broad beam should make a strong impression for the saloon and dining area. Although the Sunreef 35M Eco yacht is semi-custom, most owners likely will create an open-plan lounge and dining spot. Regardless of the choice here, they’ll certainly take advantage of what the shipyard calls the Ocean Lounge. It sounds like a fancy name for the main aft deck, but the space allocation is more ample than what some larger monohull megayachts have. The sailing catamaran combines sheltered alfresco dining with view-indulging lounging. Conveniently, the lounge is in proximity to the beach area, for boarding watertoys, swimming, and/or keeping an eye on the kids. Sunreef will outfit the tender garage with stowage for diving gear if you so wish, too.
Above all, though, the Sunreef 35M Eco yacht wants to deliver emission-free cruising. Like all of its current projects and recent deliveries, including the power yacht Sól, Sunreef Yachts incorporates solar panels in the hull sides, superstructure, and bimini. The solar cells feed the battery bank below decks and electric engines, via a system from Sunreef’s own engineering department.

With further amenities like a plunge pool and bar on the flying bridge, the new design should take up to three years to build following final design decisions with a buyer.
