Almost exactly two months before she makes her global debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, the first launch in the updated Westport W135/41M Raised Pilothouse Motoryacht series is in the water in Washington State.
Westport Yachts towed the megayacht out from her build shed on January 21. The series is semi-custom, like the rest of the shipyard’s offerings, though affording clients far more flexibility than most. In fact, Westport allows changing non-structural bulkheads, not just personalizing paneling, flooring, and other décor treatments.
Although the first W135 yacht debuted in 2023, this new launch represents styling and layout enhancements. For instance, lower bulwarks along the main deck open up the views from inside, where most owners want the saloon. Interior volume has increased, too, to 333 gross tons. “This model reflects careful listening to our clients and the market,” says Daryl Wakefield, president of Westport Yachts.
The Westport W135/41M Raised Pilothouse Motoryacht still offers accommodations for 10, which include a main-deck master suite. Superyacht owners who don’t always cruise with a big party further can convert one of the below-deck guest staterooms into a gym. Additionally, a cozy beach club sits inside the transom, while a RIB or other tender can stow aft on the upper deck. Seats with all-around views tuck into the foredeck, as does a sunpad, neither interfering with the crew’s need to access gear. Furthermore, and along the same lines, neither the hot tub nor the bar on the upper aft deck interfere with stowing the tender and toys.
With this hull’s premiere set for the Palm Beach show, starting March 25, Westport continues work on the next few hulls. Both hull number two and three are already under contract. The owners of hull number two take delivery later this year, while the owners of the other hull will start cruising next year. “The early sales success of hulls two and three confirm the demand for this new platform,” Wakefield asserts.
