“This vessel is 208+ feet and 28 knots of pure beauty. We are so blessed. This was a thought or vision 2 years ago materializing! Program your brain for what you want!” So writes JR Ridinger, who with his wife Loren owns Utopia IV. He wrote the comments on his Instagram account, accompanying photos he took of the Utopia IV launch nearly a month ago. In the video below, shot by builder Rossinavi, you begin to understand his excitement and enthusiasm.
It’s probably all the more exciting because the Ridingers had never built a yacht before. They had definitely owned yachts, however. These included a 150-footer for quite a number of years. But, the prospect of essentially starting from scratch was, JR Ridinger admits, daunting.
However, judging from his social media posts, he and Loren felt they were in good hands with Rossinavi. The couple shared their own video of his speed at the Utopia IV launch, explaining how he was impressed with the family-run yard. The family’s construction and engineering knowledge put him at ease, too. In addition, they proved to him that he could have a large megayacht yet still have a relatively shallow draft. It’s just 7’2’ (2.2 meters). Equally important, this large megayacht could turn out a truly sporty performance.
JR Ridinger is effusive in his praise for Rossinavi, and for the experience of seeing Utopia IV launch. In another Instagram post, he writes, “This was such a magic moment for @lorenridinger and me. Thanks so much to the @rossinavi team for your amazing work! #blessed”
