The first Sirena 42M, which is simultaneously the first of the Sirena Superyachts models, is on pace for completion next year. The shipyard’s flagship is in build on spec, too, uniting a multi-national team. Styling and interior layouts are from Luca Vallebona, naval architecture is by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, and interior design is by Hot Lab. Collectively, they’re creating a cruiser with a fresh take on private outdoor spaces. Complementing the immersion in seascapes, an abundance of greenery punctuates the décor. So, too, do natural beech and oak, cotton, and titanium-toned metal. Sirena Yachts considers it a blend of Nordic and relaxed Mediterranean styles.
Recently, we spoke with Constantinos K. Constantinou, head of Sirena Yachts USA, for an update on the 42M’s development.

Q: When we sat down for an interview in 2022, you mentioned that half of the American owners of the 88 had expressed interest in your new superyacht models. What has taken place since then?
A: Current Sirena 88 owners are eagerly awaiting to see the progress of the new Sirena 42M. They have been receiving regular updates and are planning factory visits during 2026, when the 42M will be at an advanced stage of build.

Q: Have you met with clients who are new to your brand? What’s catching their attention, especially with the Sirena 42M?
A: Yes, the 42M has attracted the attention of current yacht owners in the 35- to 50-meter size range who are new to the brand. They are attracted to and intrigued by the styling, the innovative space arrangement and the naval architecture.

Q: What has ticked the emotional boxes for them? Meaning, what have they expressed that has everything to do with the experience of cruising, versus the technology or engineering?
A: The experience of cruising box is already checked, since they’re all already yacht owners. In fact, their status as current yacht owners also puts them in a great position to assess and appreciate the virtues of what the 42M has to offer.

Q: The 40- to 50-meter market is full of choices, many pretty similar. The private owners’ patio on the 42-meter is unlike anything else available. Has that been a strong selling point?
A: Yes, it has been. It’s a new, innovative space arrangement, a feature that is both attractive and offers great functional attributes.

Q: Ultimately, do you still foresee the 42-meter and the other superyacht models selling strongly in the U.S. market? If so, why?
A: While it remains to be seen if the U.S. will be the stronger market for the 42M compared to the rest of the world, based on yacht ownership data combined the virtues of the yacht itself, one would expect that the 42M will do well in the U.S. market.
