Following their collaboration on the recently delivered Irimari, Focus Yacht Design and Sunrise Yachts have put together a few proposals. Merideon, a Sunrise 170, is among them. She emphasizes leaner, longer dimensions for a sub-500-gross-ton megayacht.
With a somewhat slender aluminum hull, Merideon might not seem capacious. But, her 29’5” (8.99-meter) beam is in keeping with that of some similar-size megayachts. Better, she should see a boost in performance, expected to cruise at 18 knots with traditional engine choices. And, the 167-foot (51-meter) megayacht distributes both alfresco and interior space well.
For example, each aft deck aboard Merideon is devoted to a different lifestyle aspect. Dining, lounging, and sunning all have their specific places. The main aft deck, for example, contains a circular seating area. It’s actually comprised of two sections that can slide on tracks. The settees can therefore be moved however the owners’ and guests’ fancy strikes. Alfresco dining takes place on the bridge deck. Both a pantry and the bar forward of the skylounge aid service. Windscreens keep dinner comfortable, too.
Dinner is served inside Merideon as well, as you’d expect. The formal dining area gains a bit more room due to the megayacht’s length, plus fold-down bulwarks if you so wish. If you opt not to, full-height glass characterizes the entire deck, as seen in the saloon below.
You’ll surely wish to spend abundant time in the beach club. Your guests will, too, especially considering they can access it directly from their staterooms. Focus Yacht Design and Sunrise Yachts relocated the accommodations space to go aft of the engine room, versus the typical spot forward.
For aesthetic as well as practical purposes, Focus Yacht Design concentrated stairways centrally. So, too, is the bridge deck a full walkaround deck. And, Merideon contains a concealed rigid awning aft on this same deck. It deploys via push button. Focus Yacht Design and Sunrise Yachts believe the rigid aspect makes it more adaptable to varying weather patterns.
Sunrise Yachts anticipates that Merideon can be delivered in 2018 if a contract is signed within the next few months.
