Italy-based Ocean King is weeks away from delivering hull number one in its Ducale 120 yacht range. The displacement megayacht series is for pursuing long voyages while enjoying sporty sophistication and spacious accommodations.
Displacing 315 gross tons at full load, the steel superyacht is 119 feet (36.25 meters) in length, with a big beam of 28 feet (8.5 meters). The steel hull and anticipated best range of 4,500 nautical miles at 10 knots take care of the exploration side of her personality. The beamy interior and features you’d expect to see on a far larger yacht, meanwhile, take care of her luxurious side. For example, the Ducale 120 yacht has not just one, but two pools. Additionally, one is a saltwater pool, nestled into her transom. In combination with the wide swim platform and extra alfresco space on her aft deck, it forms an open-air beach club. The other pool, as you might expect, is up on the sundeck. It’s freshwater, and heated, too.
The owner’s party of 10 have several areas to spend time together onboard and to enjoy the views. When they’re not in the pool on the sundeck, they can enjoy cocktails at the nearby bar. Loose lounge chairs further face forward, for spotting upcoming destinations, bird watching, and more. One deck below, lateral folding doors open up the skylounge as an indoor-outdoor area. It remains sheltered, though, due to the sundeck above. And, the floor-to-ceiling windows in the open-plan main saloon and dining area slide to turn it into an indoor-outdoor area, too.
An international team has contributed to the Ducale 120 yacht engineering and design. The Dutch studio Ginton Naval Architects and Italian studio inNave jointly handled naval architecture, for instance. Interiors are from Italy-based VYD Studio, with abundant whites, taupes, and soothing tones.
Meanwhile, the shipyard also has the second hull in its Doge 400 GT series under contract. The long-range motoryacht, for a party of 10, should see 7,500 nautical miles at 8 knots with Caterpillar power.
