The holidays are certainly happy at International Shipyards of Ancona (ISA), as the management team signed a new contract–directly with the owner, no less–for a 48-meter (157’5″) megayacht earlier this month.
It’s customary for an owner to have various representatives–lawyers, captains, project managers–involved in the negotiations process. But apparently this owner, who’s a first-time customer for ISA, preferred doing things on his own. He first began talking with the yard at the Monaco Yacht Show last September, and the negotiations picked up where they left off at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.
Based on the ISA 47-meter, this yacht, to be named Alexandar V, will feature Walter Franchini styling and naval architecture by ISA. Few details are being released so far, though she will have a draft of 4.5 meters, or about 14 feet, and be fitted with twin MTU 4000 series engines. Alexandar V will also have a steel hull and aluminum superstructure and be built to Lloyds classification and comply with the MCA Code. Maximum speed should be just shy of 17 knots.
She’ll apparently also be fitted with some innovative systems, but the yard either can’t or won’t divulge them just yet. Stay tuned.
