Experienced cruisers who wanted a larger yacht still capable of pulling into small bays have commissioned the RMK 120 Seven Seas. Coming from the Vripack design studio and RMK Marine, the ruggedly designed and engineered explorer packs a lot into her family-focused amenities.
Measuring 121 feet (36.86 meters), the megayacht is certainly large enough for comfortable world cruising, a key part of the brief. Further important was “everything that you typically have in a 50-meter, 500-gross-ton boat,” explains Bart Bouwhuis, co-creative director at Vripack. This comes down to everything from long range to tenders. In fact, the RMK 120 Seven Seas can carry two 24’6” (7.5-meter) tenders. They stow on an equally large, 592-square-foot (55-square-meter) designated tender deck, too. Of course, even more watertoys will be onboard. Notably, a healthy amount of space in the lazarette can handle them, including a RIB.
When the family is in transit, a few design features will offer respite from the tougher aspects of Mother Nature. For instance, an overhang just aft of the bridge provides welcome shade in hot, sunny regions. Additionally, Vripack designed the steel hull’s high bow to deflect big seas. Although anticipated range hasn’t been disclosed, the yacht should see a 10-knot cruise with Caterpillar power.
With a 29’5” (9-meter) beam, Seven Seas preserves a welcoming interior environment for up to 12 people. Tall windows bring the sunshine in, especially for the traditionally arranged main deck. Here, you’ll find the saloon, formal dining area, and master suite, along with a healthy-size galley. But, because the yachting life really revolves around the great outdoors, the owners and their family may spend more time out on deck. Surely the main aft deck will get good use, due to aft-facing seating, perfect for enjoying the views underway. When they want some privacy in port, the upper deck has a hot tub, bar, and more seating to take in the sights.
Interestingly, this marks the sixth time that Vripack and RMK Marine have collaborated. “The explorers we build with the Vripack design have great stories to tell and have given rise to a cluster of happy and satisfied customers,” says Adnan Nefesoğlu, the yard’s CEO. “Now, with this new order, we have the opportunity to recreate this line of vessels for RMK Marine.”
