When Döhle Yachts was founded in 2003 as the yacht-management division of Döhle Private Clients, a shipping-industry firm based in the Isle of Man, there were far fewer megayachts around the world, and certainly fewer regulations and pending regulations. In recognition of its expanding services and client base of 50-plus yachts, the firm is bolstering its image with a new name: Vantage.
Just as before, Vantage will work with owners, captains, brokers, lawyers, and other designated representatives to handle administrative and technical issues related to running a megayacht. Specific services include yacht registration and compliance with ISM, ISPS, and MARPOL, in addition to following developments with MLC 2006, which goes into effect in 2012. Vantage also provides crew-recruitment and payroll services.
Robert Tobin, the founder and director of Vantage (pictured on the right, with Capt. Jörg Vanselow, director of Vantage), explains that the firm will continue to rely on in-house personnel, but will also increase its partner network. In a statement, he says, “We will continue in our objective to be a trusted partner to all our clients, offering an expanded range of support and solutions, but ensuring that the service for which we have become renowned is never compromised.”
To learn more about Vantage, you can meet the firm’s representatives at the Newport Bucket Regatta from July 16 to 18, as well as the Monaco Yacht Show and Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
