Dutch ShipYard, which builds and refits both power and sailing megayachts, has tapped Dwight Tracy & Friends as its representative in the American market.
Dutch ShipYard is in northern Holland, near Enkhuizen, which for centuries was among the country’s most important harbor cities. Dutch ShipYard builds sailing yachts in the Puffin range, from 30 to 120 feet LOA, as well as custom power yachts to 279 feet (85 meters). It’s presently promoting a handful of designs by Azure Naval Architects and Olivier van Meer, as well as the raised-pilothouse 161-footer (49-meter) pictured here. Dutch ShipYard’s facilities include six sheds, including one for manufacturing masts.
Bob Schutte, marketing and sales director for Dutch ShipYard, says, “We’ve wanted to have a larger presence in the U.S. market for some time now, but felt it required having representation that was not only sales oriented, but highly qualified on a technical basis as well. The quality of our work and product is at a very high level, and our pedigree is impeccable, so we wanted to be represented by someone with a deep understanding of yacht building, someone who could interface with owners and their captains with acumen and authority.” Dwight Tracy & Friends was founded and is owned by Dwight Tracy, who previously founded Allied Marine Group. Dwight Tracy & Friends has a New Build and Refit Program division, headed by Phil Friedman, whose 25-year career spans project planning and management as well as overseeing operations at Palmer Johnson. Friedman will further assist buyers and owners in obtaining insurance and finance, consulting naval architects, assembling a build team, and more.
