Romea is the newest delivery from Abeking & Rasmussen. She was photographed at sunrise in Gibraltar over the weekend.
While you can’t see “Romea” on her nameboards, since they were still covered up, her official name is being broadcast via AIS.
Romea was known as Dartwo during construction. She launched at Abeking & Rasmussen in February and departed this spring. LOA is 268’4” (81.8 meters), with a beam of 45’9” (14 meters). Abeking & Rasmussen has kept mum on the project, due to confidentiality agreements. We do know, however, that Romea has the same dimensions as Kibo, a 2014 delivery from the shipyard. They’re each the longest Abekings thus far. Both yachts also bear styling by Terence Disdale Design.
Prior to heading to Gibraltar, Romea visited Norway, a destination popular with a number of Northern European-built megayachts. Abeking & Rasmussen cannot comment on the owners’ cruising plans. It’s a safe bet, however, that Romea will spend time in the South of France this summer.
