As popular as warm-water destinations are, a number of megayachts make their way to northern climes. Norway is increasingly a top-tier cruising destination. Two service providers, both with yachting experience, have joined forces to help you explore, clear customs, and more.
The companies are Bergen Ship Agency and Exclusive Scandinavia. The former is a Norway-based port agent adept at working with private-yacht owners and guests as well as captains and crew. For example, besides assisting with entry clearance, Bergen Ship Agency arranges berths, guest transfers, and (if necessary) medical assistance. Exclusive Scandinavia, meanwhile, creates customized private travel experiences for luxury clientele, including those aboard yachts. So, under the new venture, it can tailor shoreside itineraries among the fjords, arrange entry to special events, and more. (The photo above shows the famous Selje Abbey on the island of Selja. Also known as Selje kloster, the Abbey was a Benedictine monastery.)
“Whether our clients want to explore Norway through exciting adventures like hiking, biking, kayaking or fishing, or they want to enjoy our rich culture and breath-taking nature, we have something for them,” says Ingjerd Dymbe Anda, CEO of Exclusive Scandinavia. “And don’t forget our many adventurous and educational activities for children.”
Kenneth Lervåg, an agent from Bergen Ship Agency, agrees that Norway offers diverse nature, climate, and culture. “The natural beauty of the many fjords, glaciers, snow-capped mountains, cascading waterfalls, picturesque archipelagos, charming villages, and the exotic midnight sun is exceptional.” He adds, ““One of the best ways to explore is by cruising the waters.”
