Meaning “love of life”, the name of the yacht Amor à Vida conveys it all about her owners. This American couple are in love with the yachting lifestyle and the shorelines that it brings practically to their feet.
Having just taken delivery of their 221-foot (67.5-meter) yacht from CRN, the owners are enjoying their maiden cruising season. They have wasted no time, either, exploring sunny Mediterranean shores. The Italian coastline south of the CRN headquarters in Ancona has been one of the first cruising locations, for example. Sea trials several weeks ago confirmed a top speed of 16 knots, well suiting leisurely travels.
Ever since the owners signed the contract, they have kept many major details about the yacht under wraps. That extended to her name, too, up until her christening. During construction, the CRN team and design partners, including Nuvolari-Lenard, called her Project Maranello.
Among the handful of facts that the owners do share, though, the yacht Amor à Vida stands six decks high. Within those decks lie staterooms for 12 people, including themselves in a pied-a-terre with quite the view, on the upper deck. Friends and family have accommodations spsread across the main and lower decks. Very Important People have a lovely full-beam suite on the main deck, where typically many superyacht owners place their own suite. Notably, this VIP can convert into two cabins if needed. Five further cabins are all below decks.
When they soak up the sun and the surroundings of an anchorage, everyone onboard has some special places in which to indulge. More than one pool at their disposal. Furthermore, the water will never send shivers through anybody. A heat-recovery system captures the so-called waste heat from a variety of the machinery, using it to heat the water.
