The largest megayachts afloat oftentimes are the most secretive. Rarely does the public get to see inside the social spaces and staterooms. The yacht H3 is an exception to the rule, however. Between a significant refit wrapped up last year and her recent listing for sale, we can share plenty of details.
The refit under the code name Oceanco 1050H was a total transformation, in multiple ways. Firstly, she grew from 312 feet (95 meters) to 344 feet (105 meters), The yacht launched as a 312-footer in 2000, as Al Mirqab. Secondly, the sleek superstructure is a dramatic departure from the wing-enhanced design she initially featured. Additionally, multiple mechanical upgrades took place, including swapping out the original engines for more emissions-friendly ones.
Throughout the four enclosed decks, the owner wanted a serene sensibility, working with Reymond Langton Design to execute his vision. Pale, soft tones, including earthy colors, set the mood from the main saloon to the staterooms. Sunlight streaming in from floor-to-ceiling windows enhance the feeling, too, as does good use of space. Multiple areas are expansive, yet don’t look or feel overly vast. This includes the owners’ deck and the VIP suite, each with a private lounge. The VIP further has a private alfresco area.
Among the areas sure to impress interested buyers of the yacht H3: a wine cellar near the formal dining area. Fitness buffs will delight to the views from the forward-facing gym on the sundeck. Cruisers who enjoy a little extra indulgence at sea will note that a hair and beauty salon sits below decks, as do a massage room and a hammam.
Arguably, though, the most talked-about interior feature aboard the yacht H3 is her video wall. Specifically, it’s an interactive video wall, making for quite a way to transition from the welcome lounge on the main deck to the main saloon.
The three years it took to completely change her are significant, too. To build an all-new yacht of 344 feet, you’d need at least five years. Since she is essentially new, the yacht H3 carries a new-build warranty.
Finally, the yacht H3 is for sale with a flotilla of floating toys. Kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, SeaBobs, inflatables, two custom Compass tenders, and some PWCs promise to be crowd-pleasers.
The asking price: €295 million, or about $322 million at press time, through the central listing of Edmiston.
