Despite all the attention on a yacht’s launch, she actually launches more than once. The first, and arguably most significant, occurs when a subcontractor for hull and superstructure construction ships the combined components to the yard. While not all yacht builders employ these third parties, they play a vital role in a yacht’s progress. The CRN Project Maranello yacht just crossed an important stage off her to-do list thanks to her steel hull and aluminum superstructure craftspeople. She’s arrived at her outfitting shed at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy.

Also going by her hull number, CRN 143, the super-stylish superyacht bears exterior lines by Nuvolari-Lenard. Just one illustration has been available so far of what that styling looks like. It combines soft curves with subtle bow flare and cascading lines fully aft. In total, five decks are aboard, though the sleek profile keeps them from seeming to tower and overwhelm.
Unfortunately, few other facts are available about the overall design at this stage. CRN does say that she’ll have accommodations for a total owners’ party of 14. Additionally, the captain and crew head count is 15.

Yet another noteworthy feature, the owner wants to ensure that the Project Maranello yacht’s environmental footprint is lower than most traditional motoryachts. Therefore, a hybrid propulsion system will permit electric-only operations when wanted. Further eco-oriented equipment and elements may be onboard, too.
In the meantime, CRN’s team is preparing machinery installations and initial joinery for walls and other soles. As Project Maranello gets closer to her official launch—and christening—she’ll receive her custom paint job.

She’s in good company at the Superyacht Yard. In fact, a 279-footer (85-meter) for another CRN customer is under construction. This project, among the largest for the builder so far, goes by her hull number, CRN 144. Additionally, a slightly smaller but no less build is underway. She’s CRN 145, coming in at 230 feet (70 meters) LOA. Finally, multiple megayachts for CRN’s sister brands of Custom Line, Pershing, and Riva are in various stages of construction there as well. It’s all thanks to the site comprising nearly 861,113 square feet (80,000 square meters).
